Lance at Leadville - veloNews

VeloNews is reporting today that “anonymous sources” told them that Lance Armstrong has specific pland to compete in Amgen Tour, Paris-Nice, Tour de Georgia, and Tour de Frande.   However, Team Astana says they have no plans with him.  Speculation has been growing since Discovery Channel team director Dirk Demol signed with Astana for 2009 last month.  Click here to read the article.  Word is, the real story is expected to come out in Vanity Fair later this month.

Finishing second at Leadville Trail 100 last month behind David Wiens, there was another indication that he wants to return.  When asked if he’d return, Lance replied, “I think so… I won’t come back unless I’m in shape. And I feel like I’m in decent shape.” Now “in shape” to Lance has a whole different meaning than it does to others of us.  He’s planning on running Chicago Marathon next month, so we’ll see how specific his training is.
